How much material can I pick up? What do I need to consider when loading and picking up?
Please click here for our process and guidelines around loading and picking up material.
Generally, one (1) yard of mulch, soil and aggregates; one (1) full skid of stone and/ or pavers. Other products may vary, please ask customer service for details.
The capacity varies due to the material but normally we can deliver up to 6-7 yards in our dump trucks per single delivery and up to 24 skids on our flat bed trucks. Larger loads can be easily arranged. We have the capacity you need for any project.
Yes, we can split two products on our dump truck and a number of items on the flat bed. Please ask for details on how we can deliver multiple products in one delivery saving you time and money.
Visit our Delivery Process & guidelines portion in the website to obtain all the relevant information, pricing and our core delivery area.

Our certified weight scales ensure that our customers get exactly what they ordered and paid for.
One ton equals 2000 lbs. All goods sold by ton or yard are based on ½” (1.25cm) mortar joints. Please be careful when estimating materials, as we are not responsible for errors made based on the purchaser’s calculations.
Click here to use our easy calculators to help determine your requirements for your project.
No, there are different rates per ton for wet and dry material weights on aggregates. Pallet products are weighed in dry conditions, pavers are per unit and mulch & soil are sold by the yard.
A cubic yard of material would fill a 3-ft. x 3-ft. x 3-ft. box.

The typical rule of thumb is that a pallet of wall stone is enough for about 30 linear feet, one foot high and single faced.
Consider drainage, foundation and securing the product. These are key to a long lasting result. Proper preparation will ensure that the beauty will last. Never cut corners on construction projects.
No. Unlike rigid retaining walls, segmental landscape wall systems are flexible structures and can accommodate slight movement and even settlement without cracking or other types of distress.
No. Unless the soil is extremely weak, a firmly compacted gravel footing is sufficient to support the wall and has the capacity for natural movement of the wall.
No. It is very important that 3/4" crushed stone be used in order to provide proper drainage and prevent buildup of hydrostatic pressure, which can lead to wall failure.
We carry many types of sealers that will have varying effects on stone. Please visit our location for specific information about how to seal your stone to your desired finished look.
A slow-growing plant that typically forms a low crustlike, leaflike growth on stones and trees.
If the moss rock gets the occasional watering that will help. Too much pressure from sprinklers or any chemicals will kill lichen.
- 3/4" to 1" thick flagstone is recommended for patios.
- Flagstone is not recommended for driveways.
Remove all grass, sticks, stones and trash. Level to near grade with “A” gravel and top the last 1-2 inches with chips and dust.
When water moves through a wall, or is being driven out as a result of heat or hydration, it brings salts to the surface that are not commonly bound as part of the cement stone. As the water evaporates, it leaves the salt behind, which forms a white, fluffy deposit that can normally be brushed off. The resulting white deposits are referred to as "efflorescence" in this instance.
No guarantee is given on exact colour or surface texture due to variations in colour pigment, effects of humidity, temperature, sizes and colour of aggregate, effects of efflorescence, and different shipments which are all beyond our control.
Occasionally products we purchase will vary in size, colour and texture. This is due primarily to natural variation and also to time or place of purchase. So unfortunately, we can't guarantee matches in size, colour or texture from previous purchases. If you need to match a product, please bring in your sample and we will do our best to match it. We suggest you purchase what you need to complete your project if these variations are of concern.
- Rock gardens are an easy way to add character to your yard and are very low maintenance.
- Use to solve problem areas such as rocky terrain, slopes, heavily shaded area, or arid spots.
- Packing the soil before placing rocks & boulders will decrease movement and settling. Also, lay down landscaping fabric to prevent weeds.

Besides spraying herbicides, use Polymeric Jointing Sand as the modern alternative to regular sand. Polymeric Jointing Sand is a high-tech blend of sand. Applied dry, it hardens after wetting. It resists erosion and inhibits weed growth.
No. Stone dust traps water and gets spongy, which can cause rutting and settlement. Use coarse concrete sand or stone sand.
Very well. Small, high-density units withstand cracking as well as damage from freeze-thaw cycles and salts. Pavers are stronger than ordinary or stamped concrete.
Yes, due to the smooth surface & resilient nature of pavers, plow trucks have no difficulty in the winter.
The pigments used to colour concrete pavers are very constant. Dirt and normal wear from traffic and weather may appear to change the colour over time. Cleaning and sealing can prolong, restore and enhance the colour.
Yes, save a few pavers from your initial installation, just in case you need to replace one or two.
Settlement is often caused by inadequate soil or compaction, or by poor drainage from using the wrong type of gravel. You can repair this easily by taking up the pavers, correcting the problem and reinstalling the pavers.
This is efflorescence. To see more information on “Efflorescence” click here. It is not due to a flawed product and does not affect structural integrity and will dissipate over time. If desired, it can be removed using specialty cleaners.

- To help prevent weed growth.
- Protects the soil from erosion, moisture loss and temperature fluctuation.
- It naturally decomposes and adds nutrients back into the soil.
- It can also provide a very attractive ground cover.
Mulch can be applied anytime throughout the year.
In spring, add to new beds 2"- 3" for weed retardant and moisture retention.
Top dressing with 1-2” of fresh mulch finishes your gardens after planting and prepares the gardens for the summer.
In the fall, when mulching around transplants and perennials, a 2” coverage is needed to delay frost penetration, allowing more time for root growth. Additionally, in preparation for the cold winter months, mulch insulates the ground and protects your trees, plants & bulbs.
- The area(s) should be cleared of all weeds, leaves and grass.
- Loosen up the old mulch before replenishing with new mulch.
- Leave 3-4 inches of space around trees to avoid disease problems.
- When finished, water the mulch down to put moisture back in it and help it to settle.
- Avoid mulching around gutters & down spouts or in an area where erosion takes place due to water run-off. Use a splash block or stone aggregates instead.
- The fabric adds an extra barrier of protection against weeds.
- It helps to keep more moisture in the soil saving plant life during watering bans.
- It also accelerates the decomposition of organic mulch
- On the other hand, it may not be convenient to use in areas where you plant a lot of bulbs or annuals.
Dyed Mulch colour may vary from batch to batch (especially true with the dyed RED mulch). This is due to natural variation in the colour, texture, porosity, etc. of the wood being dyed. It cannot be controlled.
Certain products that contain dyes such as red mulch can leave stains on surfaces (Driveways, sidewalks, walls, stone, house, etc…). It will wash off if you do it right away but over time it will also disappear.
Prior to delivery, we recommend you protect your unloading surfaces with a tarp. Please ensure you have the area covered with one or multiple tarps before delivery. We sell tarps if you need to purchase them.
Wear old work clothes and shoes while handling our products to avoid stains if you ordered dyed mulch. Natural mulch will not cause any of the noted concerns.

- Put a tarp on your driveway to help reduce clean up. We do not recommend putting tarps down for gravels, as it will likely rip during shoveling.
- Wash concrete with soap and stiff bristle broom.
- A pitchfork works best for shredded mulches, large aluminum or poly grain shovels for chipped, and nugget types of mulches.
- Flat shovels are best for gravel and soil products.

Water features add a truly spectacular focal point and natural tranquility to your landscape. Water features such as koi ponds, water gardens, streams, fountains and waterfalls not only provide a soothing and peaceful garden environment and will also accent your existing landscape with a superior element to your property. Water features mature with age, and increase the value of your property.
- Choose the style you would like such as formal or natural; and this should match your current landscape design for a natural addition.
- Know the size, depth and location of the water feature you want before purchasing supplies. You should choose a location that you can enjoy its splendor. If you are planning to add fish and plants, consider the location in relation to the sun and weather elements. Furthermore, determine how level the land is in order to see how the water will sit. If you are dealing with a slope, consider incorporating a waterfall or stream.
- Choose a water feature that is best suited to your needs, and then plan accordingly with the space you have to work with. (Stream, waterfall, splash pond, Pondless (child friendly), Fountain, fishpond, etc…)
There are a number of considerations around water plants; they are border, floating, oxygenating and bog plants. We have provided a sample section of plants but please visit your local nursery to see the local selection of water plants and care instructions.
- Many aquatic perennials and pond fish can survive the harsh Canadian winter so be sure to have the water at the correct level for the depth and size of your pond. If you achieve this, your water garden will bounce back after winter.
- Fish prefer shade and the depth is essential to their survival. The pond should be structured to allow a shallow section for feeding and viewing and a deeper section so the fish can retreat if the water heats up or starts to freeze.
- Use smooth stones at the base of the pond to avoid your fish getting injured.
- A fishpond will also require a pump for aeration and a filter system for reducing water impurities and ammonia.
- Water quality, cleaning, pumps and filters, repairs, fertilizers, plant and fish care, getting ready for winter are all areas to consider when setting up to ensure a successful water feature so you can enjoy it for years to come.
- Remember to top up your pond during dry spells and heat waves.
- Lighting accents your water feature creating a really striking atmosphere to your landscape at night.
- Bridges and steps – These features create further dimension and allow you to stroll through your gardens.
- Remember you will need the appropriate electrical outlets for your pumps, filters, heaters and lighting – please ensure you check with an electrician and follow the local policies and regulations. Furthermore, identify all utility locates before you start any digging.
- Come see our selection of liners, rigid shells, pumps, filters, fountain heads, pipes, filters, valves, lighting and stone to help build your dream water feature.
